The Victoria Sponge

In the UK, people love having a cup of tea and a slice of cake in the afternoon. One of the most famous cakes in Britain is the Victoria Sponge. Its name is from Queen Victoria. People buy it in cafés or make it at home. To make the cake you need eggs, flour, butter and sugar. Mix all of the ingredients well for about 5 minutes. Then, pour the batter in a cake tin and bake it for 35 minutes. After that, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool before you add strawberry or raspberry jam. People also add some sugar or some strawberries. It’s really simple to make and it’s delicious!
